De Filatuur

De Filatuur is an industrial event location in the former textile factory FFR, Filature et Filteries Réunies, in Aalst. The location is rented out for company events, weddings, ... from 100 to 500 persons. You can decorate the location according to your own wishes and collaborate with partners of your choice for the catering, the rental of furniture and the decoration.

Accessibility

De Filatuur is located near the centre of Aalst, within walking distance of the train and bus station and close to the E40, between Brussels (25 km) and Ghent (35 km). The location has free parking for 150 cars and there is extra parking within walking distance.

A piece of history

The history of Aalst is inextricably linked to the textile industry. In the 19th century, many people from Aalst were employed in spinning mills, twining mills and weaving mills. In and around these factories the story of Daens took place. When a number of Aalst spinning mills and twining mills merged, the FFR, Filature et Filteries Réunies came into being. The factories were responsible for the production of sewing thread. At the end of the 20th century the production units of the FFR were dismantled. One of the buildings was renovated with respect for the industrial history of the old factory buildings and this is how De Filature came into being.
