Utopiacafé

Utopia is the Municipal Library and Academy of Performing Arts, housed in a brand new building designed by KAAN Architects. In addition, Utopia has 2 meeting rooms 'Mieke Maaike', a multipurpose room 'De Geuzen' and a number of classrooms available for rent to third parties in combination with catering.

Utopiacafe

At the central entrance of the building is the Utopiacafe. The cafe is an open, cosy meeting place where you can relax with a nice cup of coffee with traditional cake, a quick lunch, a delicious aperitif, a local beer and so much more. The menu offers a mix of classics with a swing and inspired dishes from Mediterranean cuisine. Local producers are given an important place in the kitchen and where possible organic products are used. Veggie and vegan are widely discussed and for certain allergies and intolerances full alternatives are offered. When the weather is nice, the spacious sunny terrace is extended. 

Catering

With a capacity of 80 people, the Utopia Café can accommodate large groups. Depending on the number of people and the formula, it is decided whether part or all of the café will be reserved. In Mieke Maaike, Utopiacafé provides full day and evening catering. If desired, this can be combined with reception, breaks, lunch, receptions and (sandwich) buffets in Utopiacafé. No catering is possible in the Geuzen and the classrooms themselves. This is always consumed in Utopiacafé.

A piece of history

The 8,300 square metre brick complex incorporates a striking historic building from the second half of the nineteenth century and rejuvenates the urban landscape, while elegantly expressing the required functionality with a focus on the total integration of users.
